This session aims to provide dental professionals with an up-to-date overview of air polishing in contemporary clinical practice. It will explore current indications, powder selection and techniques, alongside practical guidance on safe and effective application.
Delegates will gain the knowledge and confidence to integrate air polishing appropriately into everyday preventive and periodontal care.
Objectives
By the end of this session participants will have been:
- Introduced to current developments and evidence relating to air polishing in contemporary clinical practice.
- Introduced to the indications, contraindications and clinical considerations for the use of air polishing.
- Introduced to appropriate powder selection and air polishing techniques for different clinical scenarios.
- Provided with practical guidance on the safe and effective application of air polishing in preventive and periodontal care.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session participants should be able to:
- Identify appropriate indications and contraindications for air polishing within their scope of practice.
- Select suitable air polishing powders and settings based on patient needs and clinical objectives.
- Apply correct air polishing techniques safely and effectively in clinical practice.
- Incorporate air polishing into routine preventive and periodontal care in line with current best practice.
