The aim of the session is to introduce participants to the basics of Cone Beam CT Imaging in relation to radiation protection and selection criteria.
Objectives
By the end of this session participants will have been:
- Introduced to the basics of Cone Beam CT imaging
- Introduced to training requirements to undertake Cone Beam CT
- Introduced to the 20 basic principles for use of CBCT
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session participants should be able to:
- Discuss how the IRMER roles may differ for Cone Beam CT to Plain film radiography
- Discuss ways how to reduce patient dose during CBCT examinations
- Describe in what clinical scenarios CBCT may be indicated (selection criteria)
- Be able to discuss the 20 basic principles for use of CBCT
