This session aims to challenge traditional perceptions of menopause within dentistry and equip delegates with the awareness, confidence, and practical tools needed to respond effectively. It will explore how menopause is impacting the dental workforce and patient experience, highlighting the need for more inclusive, informed approaches.
By the end of the session, attendees will better understand the physical, psychological, and cognitive effects of menopause, and feel empowered to support colleagues, adapt workplace practices, and improve patient care. The session encourages dental professionals to rethink outdated norms and take proactive steps towards a more supportive and forward-thinking offering.
Objectives
By the end of this session participants will have been:
- Increase understanding of the physical, psychological, and cognitive impacts of menopause and how these can affect both dental professionals and patients.
- Identify practical strategies to create a more supportive, inclusive, and menopause-aware workplace within dental settings.
- Empower delegates to initiate open, informed conversations and implement positive changes that enhance wellbeing, retention and care.
