Dr Marilou Ciantar

Marilou attended postgraduate training in Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Institute (EDI) in London and subsequently read for a PhD degree, which was also at EDI. During this time, she was a part-time lecturer in Periodontology.

She then trained in Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine and became a member and fellow of Royal Colleges of Surgeons of England and Ireland. Marilou registered as a specialist Periodontist in 2000 and Oral Surgeon in 2007. She has worked as a lecturer in Oral Surgery at the University of Dundee and University of Aberdeen and was a part-time Senior Clinical Lecturer in Periodontology at Edinburgh Dental Institute, The University of Edinburgh.

Marilou practises as a Specialist Periodontist and Oral Surgeon at Blackhills Specialist Dental Clinic, Aberuthven, Perthshire. She is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and Co-Director of the Perthshire ITI Study Club. In her spare time, Marilou enjoys countryside walks, gardening, cooking, flower arranging and hot weather! She is involved with fundraising for charities.
