General Dental Council
You can find General Dental Council on stand c02
The General Dental Council (GDC) is the UK-wide, statutory professional-regulator of the dental team.
Its primary purpose is to protect patient safety and maintain public confidence in dental professionals. To achieve these ends, the GDC sets dental education standards, register qualified dental professionals, promote professional standards, require ongoing professional development, and investigate concerns.
The GDC would be delighted if you dropped by its exhibition stand to speak with the team – it’s always a pleasure to be able to put a face to a name! This is a particularly busy period for dental regulation, so there is lots to talk about. For example, the GDC recently undertook a dental workforce-pattern survey, is engaged with the dental sector and with governments across the UK on the proposed introduction of provisional registration for dentists qualified outside the UK, and is exploring new ways of setting standards and guidance.
