Thorntons Law has a long established and experienced specialist team dedicated to advising the dental profession. With 12 locations throughout Scotland, the team provides a range of advice for our dental clients, including practice sales and acquisitions, partnership and expense sharing agreements, and advice on buying, selling and leasing surgery premises. The team also includes lawyers who specialise in immigration, an area which has seen a growing demand in recent years.

Alongside business advice to dentists, we are able to  provide personal advice, such as dealing with Wills, buying and selling property, dealing with family law/matrimonial matters, and so on.

The team includes the only Scottish lawyer who is a member of both the National Association of Specialist Dental Accountants and Lawyers (NASDAL) and the Association of Specialist Providers to Dentists (ASPD). We are also recognised by the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners directories as specialist advisers in Healthcare, with Lead Partners Michael Royden & Ewan Miller, along with Kim Campbell,  Partner, being individually ranked.

We regularly present to dental audiences on a variety of legal issues which are relevant to the profession (including offering CPD training through NHS Education Scotland seminars). We also publish articles in a number of dental specific publications, including a regular feature in Scottish Dental magazine, and are sponsors at the annual Conference of Local Dental Committees.
