The aim of this session is to direct participants towards the latest guidance on infection control and decontamination, to enable them to apply current guidance in the practice setting.

By the end of this session participants will have been:
- Updated on the current guidance.
- Guided on applying the current guidance in a practice setting.
- Directed towards the latest guidance on infection control and decontamination.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session participants should be able to:
- Identify reasons why infection control is important in dental practice.
- Discuss the difficulties in the application of standard infection control precautions and identify methods to address these.
- Explain the recent changes in decontamination and infection control.
