James Green

James Green is a Maxillofacial and Dental Laboratory Manager for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), Broomfield Hospital and the North Thames Cleft Centre, a supra-regional service for patients born with facial clefts from North London, Essex and South and West Hertfordshire, which is run jointly by the two hospitals.

James trained at Barts and the London, Queen Mary’s School of Medicine and Dentistry and Lambeth College before qualifying in 2001. Following a vocational training year at the Royal London Hospital, he spent the following two years at the Eastman Dental Hospital, University College London Hospitals NHS Trust, before joining GOSH in 2004.

His main interests include custom-made medical device regulations, orthognathic surgery planning, custom-made devices for patients with craniofacial anomalies and orthodontic treatment outcome assessment using the PAR Index. James is the co-creator of the auricular splint, a custom-made medical device that is used to maintain projection and dimensions following second-stage auricular reconstruction.

James is regularly invited to speak at conferences, both nationally and internationally, and has published more than 20 peer-reviewed papers.

He has been recognised for his work with numerous awards, most recently the Orthodontic Technicians Association Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Field of Orthodontic Technology.
