Professor John Gibson

John Gibson is an Emeritus Professor of Oral Medicine at the University of Aberdeen, Chief Executive Officer of The Canmore Trust and a member of the Lived Experience Panel of the Scottish Government’s National Suicide Prevention Advisory Group.

On 20 October 2019, his youngest child Cameron died by suicide at 24-years-old and John’s world changed forever. John now works to prevent suicide and to offer support to individuals, families and communities affected by suicide through the work of The Canmore Trust.
