The aim of this session is to:
- Introduce hereditary connective tissue issues (HCTD).
- Explain the main signs and symptoms.
- Show how the dental team can pick these cases up.
- See the relevance to dentistry.
Objectives
By the end of this session participants will have been:
- Able to meet HCTD/Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) patients that were discovered in a dental setting.
- Had a chance to discuss signs and symptoms of HCTD/EDS.
- Been made aware of how much more common HCTD/EDS is.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session participants should be able to:
- Have a greater understanding of HCTD/EDS.
- Begin to recognise patterns suggestive of HCTD/EDS.
- Know how to modify treatment.
- Know how to modify clinic for staff members with HCTD/EDS.
