The aim of this session is to broaden the dental health professional‘s understanding of the practical use of debridement equipment.
Objectives
By the end of this session participants will have been:
- Compare the differences between magnetostrictive and piezoelectric ultrasonic scalers.
- Demonstrate effective piezo tip techniques.
- Heighten awareness of the available air polishing powders and their uses.
- Discuss techniques, recommendations, precautions and contraindications for air polishing.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session participants should be able to:
- Be able to demonstrate effective piezo tip techniques.
- Have gained awareness of the efficiency of air-polishing systems.
- Delegates will be familiar with the evidence around air-polishing.
- Delegates will be familiar with different air polishing powders.
