The aim of this session is to introduce participants to Realistic Dentistry with a particular focus on shared decision-making in primary care.
This session is designed for all members of the dental team. There will be an opportunity to participate in a world café style discussion focused on the pillars of Realistic Dentistry.
Objectives
By the end of this session participants will have:
- A broad understanding of Realistic Dentistry.
- An understanding of how Realistic Dentistry can be implemented in practice to deliver evidence-based care.
- Considered how decisions are made about implementing Realistic Dentistry in practice.

- Identify the pillars of Realistic Dentistry.
- Consider how Realistic Dentistry is delivered in their practice.
- Identify the barriers and enablers to implementing Realistic Dentistry in practice.
- Explore decision making processes around implementing Realistic Dentistry in primary care.
