The aim of this session is to introduce delegates to the Peer Assessment Rating (PAR) Index, a widely recognised method of measuring orthodontic treatment outcomes.
Objectives
By the end of this session participants will have been:
- Given the background to the development of the PAR Index.
- Introduced to the components of the PAR Index.
- Shown how PAR scores are performed and recorded.
- Provided with methods to interpret the results of PAR scores.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session participants should be able to:
- Describe the basic principles of the PAR Index.
- Demonstrate how PAR scores are recorded and calculated.
- Explain the methods of interpreting the results of PAR scores.
- Recognise that it is best practice to pass a calibration test before providing PAR Index assessments.
