This lecture will help delegates to understand stress by introducing a couple of key models, accompanied by simple but useful visuals.
Delegates will learn practical psychological skills that help them prepare for imminent stressful moments.
We will cover breathing exercises to down-regulate in a stressful moment and a brief look at sleep hygiene.
Objectives
By the end of this session participants will have been:
- Introduced to the most relevant models surrounding stress and pressure.
- Introduced to a range of psychological skills to increase tolerance to stress.
- Introduced to the importance of breathwork and its application for performance.
- Introduced to the value of a sleep hygiene routine.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session participants should be able to:
- Gain a deeper understanding of stress and a greater appreciation of their own responses to it.
- Learn and plan to apply at least one psychological skill.
- Pick one breathing exercise to utilise during a moment of high stress.
- Choose one way they can improve their sleep hygiene.
