Speaker: Varkha Rattu
Date: June 12, 2026
Time: 10:30‐11:30
Room: Speaker room 3
This session aims to explore the principles and clinical application of Minimally Invasive Non-Surgical Therapy (MINST) in the management of periodontal infrabony defects. Attendees will gain an evidence-based understanding of the biological rationale, current literature, and outcomes associated with MINST.
The session aims to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice, equipping delegates with the knowledge and strategies to confidently integrate MINST into their own periodontal care pathways.
Objectives
By the end of this session participants will have been:
- Explained the biological principles and evidence base underpinning Minimally Invasive Non-Surgical Therapy (MINST).
- Guided on the clinical indications, advantages, and limitations of MINST in periodontal management.
- Shown how to apply practical strategies to integrate MINST techniques into everyday periodontal care to optimise patient outcomes.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session participants should be able to:
- Describe the biological rationale underpinning Minimally Invasive Non-Surgical Therapy (MINST).
- Critically appraise the current evidence supporting MINST in periodontal care.
- Identify appropriate clinical indications and case selection criteria for MINST.
- Compare the advantages and limitations of MINST with conventional non-surgical approaches.
- Apply key principles of MINST to enhance clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.
