Update knowledge of the legal and practical aspects of caring for vulnerable adults and adults who lack the capacity to consent.
Objectives
By the end of this session participants will have been:
- Understand the legal definitions of adults “at risk” and “harm”.
- Have knowledge of the relevant legislation and background of adult safeguarding.
- Be able to describe the role of the dental team in relation to safeguarding and working with vulnerable adults.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session participants should be able to:
- Conduct their professional duty in relation to vulnerable adults.
- Understand relevant legislation in relation to safeguarding.
- Have knowledge of the assessment of capacity in relation to dental care.
