Simon Kidd is a full-time Dento-legal Adviser and Dental Advisory He is Team Leader for the Dental Defence Union (DDU).
After graduating with a BDS from the University of Glasgow in 2007, Simon spent 17 years as a general dental practitioner in Scotland. His clinical background is complemented by an MJDF (2010) and a Master of Laws (LLM) in Healthcare Law and Ethics from the University of Dundee (2020).
Throughout his career, Simon has been deeply involved in dental education and policy. He served as a vocational trainer for many years and represented the interests of his colleagues on various advisory groups and committees, including the Local Dental Committee (LDC).
At the DDU, Simon leverages his specialised expertise in Scottish regulatory systems to support members. He has a keen interest in the integration of modern technology in healthcare, frequently speaking on the dento-legal implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on patient safety and professional liability.
