The aim of this session is to introduce participants to cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) concepts and techniques, allowing them to better understand and manage their stress levels while working in dentistry. This session is suitable for the whole dental team.
Objectives
By the end of this session participants will have been:
- Introduced to the five-factor CBT model.
- Provided with strategies around making both positive cognitive and behavioural changes.
- Provided with some CBT tools and techniques to help reduce stress in the dental profession.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session participants should be able to:
- Identify and challenge unhelpful thinking styles.
- Make a personalised activity schedule around BACES to maintain work-life balance and self-care.
- To use simple breathing exercises and grounding techniques when experiencing stress or anxiety.
