The aim of the session is to broaden the dental health professional’s understanding of the practical uses of debridement equipment and the scientific evidence regarding dental composite systems and air-polishing and enhance daily practice in the maintenance of such restorations.
Objectives
By the end of this session participants will have been:
- Compare the differences between magnetostrictive and piezoelectric ultrasonic scalers.
- Heighten awareness of the available air polishing powders and their uses.
- Be equipped with the knowledge to implement appropriate protocols for restoration maintenance in practice.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this session participants should be able to:
- Be able to demonstrate effective piezo tip techniques.
- Be equipped with the knowledge to implement appropriate protocols for restoration maintenance in practice.
- Have gained awareness of the efficiency of air-polishing systems.
