Team-Based Periodontal Management: from evidence to implementation

This session aims to explore the benefits of a whole-team approach to periodontal management through the use of an evidence-based protocol, and to provide guidance on developing and implementing an effective protocol within the dental team to optimise patient treatment outcomes.

Objectives

By the end of this session participants will have been:

  1. Described the key components of an evidence-based protocol for periodontal management.
  2. Explained the benefits of a whole-team approach in achieving optimal periodontal treatment outcomes.
  3. Identified roles and responsibilities of different dental team members within a collaborative periodontal care model.
  4. Summarised the steps involved in developing an effective periodontal protocol for team-based care.
  5. Involved in discussion of strategies for successfully introducing and integrating a periodontal protocol into the dental team workflow.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this session participants should be able to:
