The General Dental Council (GDC) is the UK-wide professional regulator of the whole dental team. We are independent of government and accountable to the UK’s parliaments. We have a duty to help ensure patient safety and public confidence in the dental professions. We pursue our duties mainly by promoting professionalism rather than enforcing standards.
